CompuCara was established in 2010, by Joan Maguire. She has provided computer training and consultancy to Irish companies and organisations for over 30 years.
Apart from her core work of training and advising companies on technology matters, she has managed many projects and been responsible for a number of initiatives. These include, the implementation of ECDL in County Kerry for Kerry VEC. The development of the, first Department of Agriculture approved Internet Based Animal Registration system (e-feirm), The Music Office (Oifig an Cheoil) Teoranta and the Garraí Glas Project.
A founding member and former Vice Chairperson of Dingle Credit Union, in 2005 she managed the day to day runnning of the Credit Union in Dingle and was appointed to the 4 member National Technology Committee. As a Genesis programme particpant, in 2005, she completed research into the feasibilty of providing location based accommodation and meals services to tourists. In 2006 she was project manager of the "Bibeanna series", an award winning six part TG4 documentary.
A Microsoft certified professional as well as a certified ECDL tester. She attained a first class honours MSc in Interactive Media from University College Cork(2008/9).
