To Back or not to Backup<\/p><\/div>\n

William Shakespeare’s Hamlet was a thinking man, and if he were around today. \u00a0I suspect he would have something to say about backups, as without them all the data on a computer system exists in a state of peril.<\/p>\n

He might have said the following if \u00a0asked:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To Backup or not to Backup, that is the question –<\/p>\n

Whether it is worthwhile to invest and connect a Backup system<\/p>\n

and suffer the investment and extra time spent.<\/p>\n

Or to resist, \u00a0stay away from backup altogether<\/p>\n

and rely \u00a0on luck and good fortune,<\/p>\n

place your trust in the machine<\/p>\n

expecting that IT will work without fail.<\/p>\n

That no misfortune will befall it\u00a0,<\/p>\n

such as a misplaced cup of tea or coffee<\/p>\n

that no wandering virus will alight from the Internet to infect,<\/p>\n

that time and salt air will not decay or effect the faithful machine<\/p>\n

that holds your work, your pictures, your messages,<\/p>\n

that contrary to common sense your computer will develop<\/p>\n

an immunity to breakdown, that will serve you into eternity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Those who deem IT backup tedious and unnecessary<\/p>\n

remain, \u00a0inactive and risk the loss of all of their data,<\/p>\n

might suffer and through their suffering become noble.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Those that take the step to purchase and provide<\/p>\n

not one but two devices apart from their working machine<\/p>\n

as a safe haven for their sensitive data<\/p>\n

Then they too can be considered noble and not alone noble but wise.<\/p>\n
